We have been given the great opportunity again this year to send some young people to the Norfolk & Norwich Festival. We are sending 12 young people plus a friend to see some amazing acts over the two weeks of its duration. Young Derick is off to see Kyle Eastwood (son of Clint no less!), Mr Draper is off to see Staff Benda Bilili and our roving reporter Mr Mills is off to get glam at Meow Meow. The pictures they take will be up on the festivals NNF Live site, plus our own Flickr site and the audio reports will be aired via Future Radio 107.8fm.
Here is a picture from last years Big Red Ball.

What was previously known by its working title, Future Records, has now been properly named by the group of young people in charge. Iceni 5 Records is born and 3 releases have been set for the summer. Producers Case, Siris and 539 Limited are standing tall and showing off their wares. The tracks will be available via reputable online download stores very soon. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for website and social media coming your way in the not too distant future.

The project has come to an end and was extremely successful. A huge congratulations to all those involved both in front of and behind the scenes and a huge thank you to all the support which we received along the way.
A music video has been created by BBC Voices and will be posted very soon. Meanwhile you can hear the performance from the Theatre Royal Norwich here.
Here is a picture of the Future Studios lads during their second performance at the Fusion screen in the Forum. To see more images, check the Flickr site here.

This photograph was taken by Chloe during a session with local photographer Andy Sapey. It really is a grand photo. After just two hours, all the young people involved were thinking creatively about angles and lighting. There are more on the Flickr site.

Here we have a couple of lads from Sprowston High School who have been taking part in the Future Radio training. Along with 9 other class mates, the lads have been learning about presenting, producing, editing, podcasting and scheduling.
Two of the lads were invited on-air with Alison Turner to discuss the 12 week course they were on. A great experience for them.
The course has allowed them to try out the media of radio and learn some new skills. Some will take this further when choosing their options and for others, it was good for them to open the door and give it a go, but they now know that this is not for them.
