LEGI School Activity (Approved Local Economic Growth Initiative)

Arts Depot - £2500 per term with weekly after-school/timetable sessions and £350 Marketing budget

Arts Depot aims to establish a student led entertainment social enterprise in 3 schools in Norwich. This will be facilitated by an independent Youth Arts Worker who will work alongside teachers from each school and the young people will lead and manage a programme of enterprising social activities. This will include coordinating promotion of all school events and creating new events such as community focused activities, fundraisers.

Make Music. Get Paid - £3000

Make Music. Get Paid is a one off enterprise day working with 4 industry professionals. Up to 40 “employees” create, record, market and sell their new school anthem and music video. Make Music. The CD is then launched with Burning Shed, Norwich based digital distribution record company. Students are able to sell their CD locally available via a digital download from their own site coordinated by Burning Shed.

Employees are divided into 4 teams who work on their section of the product, coming back for regular “board” meetings through out the sessions for updates. By end of the project they have produced, recorded and branded a CD, have a marketing plan in place including a music video. Each school/class/year group is given 2 months and then the school who sold the most and got most media coverage wins. All revenue generated is given to the schools entertainment club.

Get Up - £2800 class size

Vocational music education delivered by practionars for 15 students over 3 full days or over 25 hours over 1 term covering all criteria for GCSE Club Dance Remix Module. End of project student and teachers will have a composition for submission for exam and an understanding of vocational music pathways and music industry. This includes 2 instructors, equipment and course work.

Your Way – £3200 available post Sept 08 class size

This is a communication level 1 module from our vocational music education programme that focuses on media, how you communicate your message, manipulation and role of image. Students will work with industry professionals and gain valuable transferable presentation and communication skills.
